Get them talking:

Who on your crew do you know the least-well?

Why is that? Are they new… or is there something else?

Keep them talking:

What would the payoff be if you got to know that person just a bit better?

What’s something simple you could do to build that relationship today?

Points to consider:

If you’re a leader, you’re in the relationship business. Relationships are what enable us to communicate with and influence people.

We don’t need (or want) to be friends with the people who work for us, but we do need to know them as people… and let them get to know us too.

The best leaders make time to get to know people — to develop relationships. Sure, there will always be some folks that you “click” with, and others you don’t, but as a leader, it’s up to you to connect with everyone.
